What are eyelash extensions?

Like hair extensions, eyelash extensions add length to human eyelashes. Synthetic single fiber polyester thread-like materials are applied to eyelashes to create a fuller, longer look. Extensions come in various lengths, colors and thicknesses, and can be worn during sleep, showering and swimming.  However, excessive exposure to oil can weaken the adhesive bond. Eyelash extensions differ from "fake" or "false" eyelashes in that they are applied one extension to one natural lash. The procedure to attach the extensions takes an average of one to two and a half hours for a full set of extensions of roughly 30-80 lashes per eye. If properly applied with cyanoacrylate adhesive, eyelash extensions are designed to bond to one's natural eyelash. They look natural and not like strip lashes.

Eyelash Extension Frequently Asked Questions

  • Classic Set: They are a simple, beautiful, natural-looking lash extensions. They are applied on a 1:1 ratio, which means one extension on one natural lash. This allows you to achieve an understated, natural enhancement.

Hybrid Set: They are a mix of a classic set and a volume set. They will give you volume and length resulting in a wispy, textured lash extension look.

Volume Set: They are created by two or more individual extensions being attached to each natural lash. They are typically created using a fan of lashes. This is where the desired number of lashes are fanned out and as a “bouquet”, applied onto one natural lash. This will give you the most dramatic look of the three.

  • Typically after your first full set your lashes will last 2-3 weeks before needing to be filled. Since everyone’s eyelashes and goals are different, the required mantenace differs per person.

  • A full set of lash extensions consists of you not having a single extension on your natural lashes before we begin. This is going to be a longer appointment than a fill appointment would be. A fill is after you have worn your full set for 2-3 weeks, you come in for our lash artist to replace any lashes that have shed in that time. This appointment typically does not take as long.

  • You will need to wash your lashes daily. A starter kit of the supplies you need is required to be purchased at your first appointment to make sure you have what you need at home to take care of your lashes. This kit is $20 and includes your cleanser, spoolie, cleanser brush, and a care guide to follow.

Brush your lashes daily with the provided spoolie.

Avoid getting your lashes wet for a minimum of 24 hours after your appointment. This allows the glue to fully set, helping your lashes last longer.

No oil based products around or on your eyes. The oil will breakdown the glue causing your lashes to shed.

Do not directly apply heat to your lashes. You will need to dry them after you wash them, but using a small fan or your blow-dryer on cool shot will dry them best. Using heat can break down the glue causing lashes to shed.

Do not use an eyelash curler.

Avoid sleeping directly on your lashes.

No picking or rubbing of your lashes.

No Mascara. You may use bottom lash mascara if necessary.

  • If you are getting your lashes done by a certified lash artist, they are taking the time to apply a lash extension to each individual natural lash. They are using their best judgement on the length of extension your natural lashes can handle. This avoids adding strain to your natural lashes causing discomfort or damage. Following the care guide instructions provided to you at home also helps to ensure your lashes stay healthy.

  • Most states require a cosmetology or esthetician license and a completion of a lash extension certification program to be legally certified to perform the service. Lash artist need the ability to pay attention to small details for long amounts of time as they work with sharp tweezers and delicate lashes.

Your Appointment will last anywhere from 1-2.5 hours typically. Depending on what lash style you choose will differ on the pricing and time your appointment will take.

Classic Lash Set: $115, Hybrid Lash Set: $120, Volume Lash Set: $135. If you are scheduling a fill appointment the timing is typically not as long as your first time full set. Two Week Fill: $50-75, Three Week Fill: $75-110, Lash Reset 4+ weeks: $115-135.

Arrive to your appointment without any eye makeup on.

We will cleanse your natural lashes before beginning, but the glue will adhere better if you come with already clean lashes.

Arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a consent form.

We have you fill out a consent form before your appointment to make sure there are not any contraindications that could cause us not to proceed with your lash appointment. This is for your safety and the lash artist’s safety.

It is suggested to abstain from caffeine for 4 hours prior to the appointment to avoid eye fluttering.

Eye fluttering will happen unvoluntary and caffeine can increase this. This makes it harder for our lash artist to isolate your lashes to attach your extensions properly.

Do not bring children to your appointment. You will be laying the entire 1-2.5 hours with your eyes closed.

This is your time to relax and enjoy your service. You can even take a little lash nap if you would like during this time!

Use the restroom before we begin your appointment.

You will not be able to open your eyes during your appointment due to the strong fumes of the adhesive we use.
